With Tesla dominating the market when it comes to electric cars, the roads officially been paved for other car manufacturers to try their hand with the alternative to gasoline. It’s been done for years and now Toyota is introducing their latest rendition with the 2022 Toyota BZ4X. The BZ4X will be sold at dealers nationwide and is separating itself from other models with an edgier style topped off with performance to match. You can expect it to hit showrooms sometime in 2022.
The Price
In terms of price, there are three tiers to choose from to fit any budget and those tiers are the LE model, XLE model, and the Limited model. Each of these will be sold at a few grand apart. The LE is looking to be priced at and estimated $37,000; XLE at $39,000; and the Limited BZ4X will come in at an estimated $42,000. Between the highest and lowest models there’s about a $5,000 difference. These are just estimates and Toyota hasn’t come out with an official price, but you can expect the models to be in that range.
The Engine
There hasn’t been much said about the specs but given the information that has been released on the BZ4X, rumor has it that the car will have dual electric motors with at least one of them powering each axel. This is based off of other models in the past. With a formula that works in design, there isn’t much reason to tweak it.
The Transmission
In terms of the powertrain, the only thing that has been said is that the BZ4X will offer four-wheel drive, always popular add on for drivers. With the model having all wheel drive, this is what fueled the speculation for the car having electric motors. With that being said, one other addition could having the all wheel drive route system route power from one electric motor to both axels.
