The Toyota Tundra is already one of the most powerful pickup trucks on the market today. For 2022, buyers can expect even more power. Currently, the Tundra uses five-lug attached wheels. Rumors have it the 2022 model will have a six-lug attachment system, meaning the vehicle will have more strength and power behind the engine and on the tongue of the tow hitch.

The 2022 Tundra will ride on Toyota’s newest truck chassis. The Toyota New Global Architecture-F (TNGA-F) allows the Tundra to benefit from greater use of high-strength steel and other weight-saving materials, providing a lightweight yet powerful experience for those behind the wheel. The all-new Tundra also is set to have a maximum payload of 1,730 pounds and a towing capacity of 10,200 pounds.

There will likely be a 3.5-liter V-6 278 horsepower engine under the hood of the 2022 Toyota Tundra, or a 3.4-liter 416 horsepower engine with higher trim levels. There are even talks of a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain option with this pickup truck.

Expect to see Toyota’s Entune infotainment technology inside the latest Tundra. An available 12-inch touch-screen infotainment system will sit on the dash, as well as a large heads-up display and Toyota’s full Safety Sense driver-assist safety technology suite.
