Tough and capable defines the 2016 Toyota 4Runner. Over 30 years of battling the elements and terrain have proven its durability. You can choose from one of six model trims for the 4Runner; SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, and TRD Pro. The TRD badge denotes the 4Runners Toyota Racing Division heritage and offers additional features to provide safe and durable off-road performance.

Providing power for off-road fun is the job of the standard 4.0-liter V-6 engine developing 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. 4Runner also provides towing capacity up to 5000 lbs. to allow you to take your toys with you. Add features such as standard hill assist in preventing rolling backwards when starting uphill and available descent control to selectively apply brakes as needed on downhill slopes, and you have a most capable off-road machine. Even more, protection is offered by skid plates to protect key parts of the undercarriage, a full-size spare tire (no wimpy donut tire here), and ventilated disc brakes to maintain good braking capability in all conditions.

Depending on your tastes, exterior features run from luxurious to rugged. The Limited trim uses chrome accents on the door handles and front grille. The TRD Off-Road trims use black accents, 17-inch wheels, and new badging. SR5 follows the traditional look of the 4Runner, with a bold grille and sharp lines. All model trims have unique alloy wheel designs to complement the trim look, LED taillights for durability and visibility, and projector-beam headlights with integrated daytime running lights for optimum visibility in all weather conditions.

Inside the 4Runner is plenty of rugged style with loads of convenience features. Optitron instrumentation provides good visibility of all gauges. The standard 6.1-inch color infotainment screen provides high resolution and touch-screen capability. Premium materials such as SofTex® and leather on selected model trims provides luxury on that next adventure. All 4Runners have an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, with heating and ventilation available on some trims. You can also enjoy the outdoors more with the available power moonroof. Enjoy features such as available premium audio, fold-flat second-row seating, available third-row seating, power rear glass, sliding rear cargo deck, and smart key with pushbutton start.
