In keeping with this spirit, Toyota has announced a shift in its hybrid battery warranties going forward. All-new model year 2020 Toyota hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell electric vehicles will now have a 10-year from date of first use or 150,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first. All other hybrid vehicle components will still keep the existing 8-year, 100,000 miles warranty.

This latest offering from Toyota is the longest hybrid battery warranty in the industry and covers not just the first owner, but all subsequent owners. This commitment allows Toyota to deliver its superior fuel efficiency, outstanding range and exceptional performance to all Toyota drivers on both new and previously-owned vehicles.

Toyota’s General Manager of Vehicle Marketing & Communications, Heather Updegraff, sums it up nicely, “This new warranty extension for the hybrid battery is just another way we are leading the industry and putting our customers first.”
